Traditionsgemäß führt die St.-Pankratius-Schützenbruderschaft auch in diesem Jahr am Christi Himmelfahrtstag (Vatertag) den Störmeder Schnadgang durch. Mit der Begehung der alten Gemarkungsgrenzen vor der kommunalen Neuordnung wird eine lange Tradition gepflegt und erhalten. In diesem Jahr gehen die Schnadgänger entlang an den östlichen und südlichen Grenzen zu Geseke und Eringerfeld, um dort den Grenzverlauf zu überprüfen. Am Donnerstag treffen sich alle Schnadgänger um 12.30 Uhr am Parkplatz an der Kirche. Festes Schuhwerk wird empfohlen. Die 1. Rast wird am Schnadstein am Rosengarten eingelegt, die 2. Rast am Holzwindelweg an den Alten Bunkern. Es wird darauf hingewiesen, dass der Weg auf dem ersten Teilabschnitt bis zur 1. Rast nicht für Bollerwagen o.ä. geeignet ist. Unter Mitwirkung des Tambourkorps Störmede findet anschließend der Ausklang auf dem Schützenplatz statt.
Übrigens: Im kommenden Jahr haben wir es mit dem seltenen Umstand zu tun, dass der 1. Mai und Christi Himmelfahrt auf ein und den selben Tag fallen. Natürlich wird auch an diesem Tag der Störmeder Schnadgang stattfinden.
